Level 3 Award in Supervising Health & Safety in the Workplace

The course provides an understanding of the main concepts of health and safety, to promote the benefits of a health and safety culture and to clarify the roles and responsibilities of individuals and supervisors.

Who should attend?

This course has been designed for supervisors, middle management and the owners of small businesses or indeed anyone with a responsibility for health and safety. It is intended to equip persons in a supervisory position with adequate knowledge to ensure that their company operates in a safe manner.

A "level 2" knowledge of health and safety is recommended, but not essential.

Course content

The course will be presented in a varied and interesting way and will include the following:

  • The concepts of health & safety
  • Workplace accidents & ill health
  • Work equipment
  • Legislation
  • Manual handling
  • Supervising health & safety.

Course book and a delegate pack are provided.

Duration

There is a workbook to complete before the course which contributes towards the guided training hours required before sitting the exam. This should take around 8 hours to complete. Potential delegates should plan this work as soon as possible.

The course is held over 3 days, concluding with a 2-hour multiple-choice exam.

Qualification
